Sons of Anarchy - Latest News ... Has Been Picked Up By FX

FX has placed a 13-episode order for a new drama series Sons of Anarchy, starring Charlie Hunnam and Katey Sagal, from The Shield executive producer Kurt Sutter.     SONS OF ANARCHY is an adrenalized, darkly humorous drama exploring a notorious outlaw motorcycle club’s intent on protecting their simple, sheltered town of Charming, Calif. from advancing drug dealers and local corporate developers.  It is also a family saga seen through the eyes of Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam) whose love for the brotherhood comes into direct conflict with his growing apprehension regarding the club's lawlessness.  Katey Sagal stars as his force-of-nature mother who, along with the club's president, Jax's stepfather, has her own ideas about the direction of the Sons of Anarchy.  Additional co-stars include Drea DeMeteo and Maggie Siff.  Production is scheduled to begin in June and the series slated to premiere on FX in September.

Katey, Charlie Hunnam and Scott Glenn have all signed on to star in the upcoming FX drama Sons of Anarchy. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Allen Coulter is directing the project.  The series is a multigenerational family drama that centers on a man in his late twenties who must balance his personal life with that of his life in the family founded Anarchy motorcycle club. Katey is set to play the mother and the matriarch of the club. The role was originally written for her by her husband Kurt Sutter.  The pilot does not have an airdate at this time.

Eli Stone
Katey has a recurring role on the new ABC series "Eli Stone" premiering 10:00 pm on Jan. 31, 2008.  Watch for Katey's first guest appearance on April 10, 2008.  The episode is entitled Patience.  Synopsis:  A vision of the future prompts Eli to take the case of a prisoner who's been denied parole-and happens to be a former client of Keith's. Unfortunately, the timing couldn't be worse because law firm partner Marci Klein (guest star Katey Sagal) is in town to investigate why the firm's Fortune 500 clients are leaving in droves (hint: it's Eli's fault), which could mean the end of Jordan's reign as senior partner.   Katey's second episode, entitled Waiting for That Day, aired on April 13.  Synopsis:  Eli has a vision of himself sitting in the back of a taxicab traveling on the Golden Gate Bridge when suddenly the earthquake hits. Unfortunately nobody believes him until Dr. Chen tells him about a scientist, Daniel Foote, who predicts the same earthquake. With Foote's help, Eli sues the city of San Francisco to get it to shut down the Golden Gate Bridge before it's too late. But he's opposed in court by W.P.K senior partner, Marci Klein.
